Terms of Service

These terms of service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Childhood Milestones app and website (the “Services”). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Who can use Childhood Milestones

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and a parent, legal guardian or family member authorized by the parent or guardian to create an account. You are responsible for the content you add about any child and for making sure you have the right to share it.

2. Your account under these terms of service

  • Provide accurate information and keep your login details secure.
  • You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
  • Tell us right away at support@childhoodmilestones.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Your content belongs to you

You keep all ownership rights in the photos, videos, voice recordings, stories and other content you add (“Your Content”). You give Childhood Milestones a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, process and display Your Content only as needed to provide the Services to you and the people you choose to share with. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for copies in routine backups that are deleted on a rolling basis.

We do not use Your Content for advertising, and we do not sell it.

4. Acceptable use under these terms of service

You agree not to use the Services to:

  • upload content that is illegal, harmful, exploitative or that you do not have the right to share;
  • upload any content that sexualizes or endangers a child — we report such content to the appropriate authorities;
  • harass others, infringe intellectual property, or violate anyone’s privacy;
  • attempt to access other users’ accounts or data, disrupt the Services, or reverse-engineer the app except as allowed by law.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Subscriptions and payments

Childhood Milestones offers a free plan and an optional paid subscription (“Milestones+”). Subscriptions are purchased and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their terms, including the Apple Standard License Agreement where it applies. Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, subscriptions renew automatically. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies. If you cancel Milestones+, you keep access to your memories and can export them; premium features stop at the end of the paid period.

6. Not medical advice

Childhood Milestones helps families remember moments and discover activities. It is not a medical, developmental or clinical tool, and nothing in the Services is medical advice. For questions about your child’s health or development, always consult a qualified professional. Activity suggestions should be done with appropriate adult supervision and judgment.

7. Changes and availability

We work hard to keep the Services available and your memories safe, but we may modify, suspend or discontinue features. If we ever discontinue the Services, we will give you reasonable advance notice and a way to export Your Content.

8. Our intellectual property

The Childhood Milestones name, logo, app design, activity library and website content are owned by Childhood Milestones and protected by law. You may not use them without our permission.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, Childhood Milestones disclaims all implied warranties and will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer-protection laws.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using the Services and delete your account at any time (see Delete Your Account). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms of service, with notice where appropriate.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ecuador, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the consumer-protection laws of your country of residence require otherwise.

12. Changes to these terms of service

We may update these terms of service. If changes are material, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Services after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
