Delete Your Account & Data

You can delete your account and all of your family’s data at any time. You are always in control of your memories, so this page explains how to delete your Childhood Milestones account, what happens to your data and how to keep a copy first.

Before you delete: deleting your account is permanent. Therefore, we recommend that you export your memories first from Settings → Export my memories in the app.

How to delete your account in the app

  1. Open Childhood Milestones and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings → Account.
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

That’s it. After you confirm, you are signed out on all devices and invited family members lose access to your child’s timeline.

Delete your account by email

Can’t access the app? No problem. Email support@childhoodmilestones.com from the email address linked to your account, with the subject “Account deletion request.” To protect your family’s data, we may first ask you to confirm your identity.

What happens when you delete your account

  • Your account profile and login details are removed.
  • All memories you created are deleted: photos, videos, voice recordings, journal entries, milestones, activities and time capsule messages.
  • Children’s profiles you created are deleted, and invited family members lose access.

We complete deletion within 30 days. However, we may keep limited records longer where the law requires it (for example, billing records). Meanwhile, backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.

Delete memories without deleting your account

Not ready to leave? Alternatively, you can delete a single memory from its menu, or remove a child’s profile from Settings → Family. In both cases, the rest of your account stays exactly as it is.

Cancel your subscription before you delete your account

Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription, because the stores manage billing. So, please cancel it first. Follow Apple’s guide to cancel a subscription from Apple, or see our Subscriptions & Refunds page for Android.

Your right to erasure

Depending on where you live, data protection laws also give you the right to ask us to erase your personal data. For instance, the GDPR describes this as the right to erasure. We honor deletion requests from every user, wherever they live. For more details, read our Privacy Policy.
